Ballad of a Shinigami is a light novel series written by K-ske Hasegawa published by Dengeki Bunko since June 2003. In each story, Momo the shinigami - god of death, and her companion Daniel, a winged black cat that can talk, travel around and change things in the world of the living.
The anime was first broadcast on March 2, 2006 on WOWOW satellite TV. It was later put on demand on Yahoo Douga and re-broadcast on Tokyo MX Television.
A manga adaptation by Asuka Izumi is currently serialised in the manga magazine "LaLa". TV Tokyo also produced and broadcast a 12 episode television drama based on the series in early 2007.
Seven Seas Entertainment are releasing the English adaptation of the novels in the US in Autumn 2007.
